Families
JAA Consultancy aims to work with Alternative Provisions, Schools and Families to support the navigation of the SEND journey.
We believe no child should be left behind in their education and work with stakeholders to ensure inclusive practice remains at the heart of all that we do.
Concerns about your Child
- How to address concerns regarding the content and/or implementation of SEND Support
- Determining whether or not an EHC Needs Assessment is necessary

Concerns about your Child in School
- Support in discussing concerns about your child in school
- Exploring support strategies (it does not matter if your child has not got an EHC Plan/SEN Support Plan in place yet)
- Your concerns could be about academic progress, social skills, mental health, around delayed self-help skills (such as toileting or feeding) or about managing a medical condition.
EHC needs Assessment Process (Support & Guidance)
- Submitting a parental EHC Needs Assessment request (or to check a school/professional application).
- Reading and checking reports and signposting to any relevant professionals
- Support to challenge a refusal to assess if a Local Authority turns down your child’s request for an EHC Needs Assessment
- Consulting on draft EHC Plans issued by a Local Authority
- Support with preparing a parental response, including any amendments

Reviewing and/or Updating the EHC Plan once in Place
- Support with the Annual Review process, including attending meetings if required
- Support with amending the EHC Plan and liaising with the Local Authority and school regarding any changes required
Support with Changing Schools
Support with changing schools, including assisting with a school search to find the most suitable placement, and liaising with schools to ensure they are able to meet your child’s needs and offer a place.
If required, we can also liaise with the Local Authority to assist with their decision making.

Tribunal Support
Support with signposting to relevant legal professionals to assist with the Tribunal Processes if you wish to appeal a Local Authority decision.
Supporting Young People
- Supporting young people in preparing for adulthood, and making the next choices in their future pathways
- Advocating for young people

Please get in touch if you have any concerns about your child or young person; an initial 30 minute consultation call is free of charge so that we can work together to identify the best way forward.
Meetings are held virtually and are inclusive of fees. Travel costs to any face to face meetings are charged separately.
